Ashraf Hanna / GB,EG

“Early formative years growing up in Egypt were hugely significant in shaping my sense of form and what I now find pleasing as a maker; however, having lived most of my adult life in the UK where I discovered ‘making’ with clay and developed a passion for hand building, I now have many influences that inform my practice. My work has enabled me to both communicate aspects of my own heritage and also respond to new stimulants from the UK and this was key to developing an identity that embraces the past and the present.”
