Tidru (FR)

Tidru, a self-taught French sculptor, draws his artistic inspiration from human nature and its complexities. His works, often described as ‘painted sculptures’, lay bare humanity through characters who tell inner stories. He uses skin-deep drawings to express what builds us up and what lies deep within us.

The artist seeks to provoke reflection in the viewer, while avoiding outrageous expressionism. Her sculptures invite the viewer to enter a world where all the senses are engaged, in a highly personal poetry that evokes emotion and melancholy.

Tidru stands out for his unique approach to sculpture, in which he combines ceramics with illustrations that seem to emerge from inside the figures, creating a coded and enigmatic visual language.
